Alishan Series

iff coffee is one of the few Tokyo roasteries that keeps Taiwanese Alishan specialty coffee as a permanent, year-round lineup rather than a seasonal feature. We currently carry 5 Alishan lots at all times, with plans to expand to 8 or more.

2025 Alishan Elite Exchange Grand Champion

The Natural Geisha from Mountain Island Coffee (producer: Tsai, Yu-Tian) took First Prize last year, then claimed this year's highest honor — the Grand Champion "Special Prize" — at the 2025 Alishan Coffee Evaluation Assessment. At auction, 15kg of this lot sold for over NT$300,000 (roughly ¥1.4M) — the highest-grade Taiwanese coffee we pour. Gardenia and lavender open into bergamot acidity and ripe peach and mango sweetness, finishing with a milk-tea-like body and honeyed sweetness. Currently available by the cup only, in very limited quantity.

Craft & Equipment

Our owner is an SCA/CVA certified Q Grader and placed 10th at the Takao International Coffee Competition. To bring out the full nuance of our Alishan lots, we brew with a world-class setup: La Marzocco Linea PB espresso machine, Option-O Lagom 01 pour-over stand, Mahlkönig E65S grinder, a motorized PUQ Navigator WDT tool from the Netherlands, and water profiled through APAX LAB. Every pour-over is served in the competition-grade ASYMMETRY Cup, so each Alishan lot's flavor comes through in full.

Why Alishan

Alishan has long been known for tea, and only recently began producing small volumes of specialty-grade coffee — still very rare internationally. We're a Taiwanese couple running a home-roasting café in Minami-Aoyama, Tokyo, and instead of treating Alishan as a one-off novelty, we've made it a permanent core of our lineup — washed, natural, and honey process, so the range of Alishan flavor is always available.

The lineup keeps growing each season as we select new lots from Taiwan. Follow Instagram or join our LINE account for the latest additions.
